New paintings on Etsy! My Shop
Monthly Archive for October, 2009
Tonight I was featured in the grow gallery. I had a lot of fun
it was interesting ease-dropping on others. Thank you so much
Grow Gallery and Art on Alberta for letting my little paintings
show!

Before people showed up!
So I was suddenly inspired to make a mini sculpture. I ended up
making a creature I call evolution. This guy is tiny! It is only 6″ tall with
the chair. Enjoy!

A larger picture is in my portfolio HERE!
Here is my latest project. My last entry was what I based this drawing from.
I photoshopped some elements together. This will be a fun one!

I have another project I want to get to hopefully on deadline.
The theme is “Cirquesque.” So I took some stock art and played
with photo-shop. This is what I will be painting!

I am very excited to announce that my two submissions for the
100th monkey art gallery for pilgrimage were accepted! The show
opens November 6th at 110 SE 16th Ave, Portland OR

A Reflection of Age

Death is a Part of Life
I just finished another submission for a show. The theme is pilgrimage. My idea
was that a spiritual journey occurs when we understand that death is a vital part
of life. It is around and within every living creature.

This piece is for a submission to the November themed show at 100th
monkey art studio. The theme is “Pilgrimage.”
A pilgrimage is a long journey or search for some type of moral significance.
Sometimes, it is a journey to a sacred place. Members of many major religions
participate in pilgrimages. Have you ever taken a trip physically, emotionally or
spiritually that you might consider a pilgrimage?
So here is my piece about aging and the journey.

These piece is done on canvas inserted into the back of a mirror.
So as I was working on the piece last night
I felt very dissatisfied with the figure on the left.
His face looked funny to me and really
I didn’t need him at all.
Pulling him out of the picture gave way to a
wonderful process of elimination and creation
of a new background. I am rather pleased with the
results.

I can’t tell if this is done really. I think I want to add
to the man’s shirt or I am not sure. Anyway here is the progress.
