My assignment is to make a color wheel in any shapes I want in oils.
I kind of went overboard….. This should be an idea I develop more
later. It’s so shiny cause its still wet.

In February I am participating an an auction called Art on the Vine
benefiting the Oregon College of Art and Craft. Please visit their blog
and support our local art colleges!

For the auction Fool’s Lament is up for bid.

In my class it is back to the basics. I am working on a monochromatic
still life. Here is a sketch and the beginning on the painting. Keep in
mind the chair is crushed velvet.

So I started a painting class and I feel like I am starting all over again.
I do not know much about oils but I feel like this is an opportunity to
veer down that path. Trouble is I feel completely alien in this media.
But it is ok its exciting even if this skull also looks a bit alien.

I have about a week until I start school again. Well less than
a week if you count the life painting class I am taking on
Fridays. This means I need to get some work done before
I get too exhausted. I started on my Art in Hand Project.
Here is the beginning of the Queen of Hearts/Self Portrait.

My paintings are now at Cup and Saucer Cafe on Killingsworth
in Portland. Go to Upcoming Shows to look at the address.
Here is a revision of an older piece.
